The "Fischerei" in Bamberg is one of the traditionally grown quarters of Bamberg's city center, which have not changed significantly in the last few centuries and are still used to a large extent for living today. Maintaining and strengthening this residential use was a key task of urban redevelopment, both to preserve the building fabric and to ensure that purchasing power was tied to the city center in the long term.
