Altessing is part of the Essing market in the Altmühltal, which is particularly known for its large, curved wooden bridge and Randeck Castle. The Martinskirche in Altessing has a remarkable tower: on the square, Romanesque substructure, an equally high, clapboard-roofed spire was placed on the square, Romanesque substructure in 1709, which ends with an onion dome.
