Vent is a certified mountaineering village and has been involved with the Initiative Bergsteigerdörfer since its inception. The united villages, spread over all federal states in Austria, are pioneers of alpinism in their regions.

So it is no coincidence that in the mountaineering villages awareness

is more pronounced about the harmony between nature and man than in many other places.

Alpinism has a long tradition in mountaineering villages. In Vent, the first mountain hiking trails were created as early as the 1860s, making the small village a true pioneer of alpine tourism.
