Nordkirchen Palace is a baroque palace complex in southern Münsterland and is a good 25 kilometers from Münster in the municipality of Nordkirchen in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Coesfeld. The listed moated castle is the largest and most important baroque residence in Westphalia and is also known as the "Westphalian Versailles" due to its dimensions and architectural design.

The architecture is based on French models,
but also imitates the classicism of Dutch moated castles,
combined with typical Westphalian features.
Of course, Johann Conrad von Schlaun played a key role in the design of this imposing building.
Nordkirchen Castle with its 170-hectare park was declared worthy of protection by UNESCO as a "complete work of art of international standing".
