As part of the "Art in Public Space" project of the Lower Saxony Foundation under the direction of Dr. Lothar Romain, which Peter Ruthenberg realized between 1990 and 1994, this bus shelter was created by Ettore Sottsass. The Xs arranged in pairs refer to the 20th century, they also form the legs for a large table, so this shelter is also called "The laid table".

I think it's nice that various tram stops in Hanover have their own design.

Since an art project in 1994, there have been many special bus stops in Hanover.
This one is designed by Italian designer Ettore Sottsass.
With the cross lattice made of yellow painted steel, it represents a table.
A roof stretches over it like a tablecloth, offering those waiting protection and shielding from the noisy flood of cars.
