The parish of Heimsheim (approx. 2,300) includes the town of Heimsheim. A parish has been documented in Heimsheim since 1282. The patronage of the church, which was named Marienkirche (To Our Lady) in 1555, was the local ruler, in the 15th century the Lords of Stein, then the Lords of Gemmingen before it went to Württemberg. Only the late Gothic chancel survives from the original church, the rest was destroyed in 1634. The nave was rebuilt in 1657/58 and modified in the 18th century. After being destroyed in World War II, the church was rebuilt between 1948 and 1950.
