Gesehen auf einem Donauradweg-Schild vor Novi Sad, Serbien (in Serbien sind ALLE Donauradwegschilder mit einer Lebensweisheit oder einem "erwähnenswerten" Zitat versehen!): "Denken wir für einen Augenblick an all die Amerikaner, die gerade im Stau stehen auf dem Weg ins Fitnessstudio, um sich dort auf ein Standfahrrad zu setzen!" (Zitat des US-Kongressabgeordneten (und bike commuters) Earl Blumenauer anlässlich der Eröffnung eines Fahrradweges in Washington D.C.)! 😂🖒 Treffender kann man es nicht sagen, denn wer will sich auf ein Ergometer setzen, wenn die Natur auf einen wartet? 😉 Ich LIEBE es, draußen unterwegs zu sein, auf meinem Bio-Bike (seit Weihnachten 2020 nutze ich im Wechsel dazu ein e-Bike 🙈), wobei ich "moderate" Touren absolviere, der "Spaß an der Sache" steht für mich stets an oberster Stelle. "Kilometer fressen" ist NICHT mein Ding 😎

      Day four on the tour along the "Stream of the Franks" 😃 First of all, a visit to Bamberg (UNESCO World Heritage Site!) - a pretty, charming city - and a visit to the cathedral were a must (quiz question: which famous Franconian city is located in The even more famous Bamberg rider? 😆🤣) We skipped the smoked beer in the traditional Schlenkerla restaurant this morning - but we had already tested it the evening before (well ... you have to like it ...) 🍻😜 The tour itself wasn't consistently pleasing - it ran right on the street between Viereth and Eltmann, which I don't like at all 👎🏻 After that, however, everything was fine again - even as far as Schweinfurt, which I didn't expect at all (I only associate the city with a lot of ugly industry "... I was taught better ☝🏻) Oh yes, and the most important thing: We stayed dry ✌🏻 which deserves special mention with the thunderstorms brewing around us! 👼😇 So so far everything fits perfectly! 🤩

      Storms were reported all over Bavaria, so it was fitting that we had a short stage today - only to Bamberg 👍🏻 This section of the Main Cycle Path was really great - there was always something for the eye and the weather was good until lunch, in a "very inconspicuous inn", perfect - almost too hot 🥵 (the inn was a recommendation from hikers who we asked for a tip on the way 👌🏻). As soon as we had enjoyed our roast pork (real Franconian, with savoy cabbage 😋) and two shandy (2! I really accelerated and didn't have time for 📸 anymore 😖 But: We arrived in Bamberg on dry wheels 💪🏻 You have to be lucky 🍀🐞🍄

      We continue along the "stream of Franconia" 😃 Today "actually" storms should arrive, but the northeast of Bavaria was spared of it ✌🏻 and so we were able to complete the second stage in wonderful summer temperatures. 🌞 Shortly before the end, a highlight was the Vierzehnheiligen monastery complex "up" (!) On the mountain (with an organic bike - with 2 BS / leg strengths) 🤪 which was actually not on the agenda. But when I saw the sign on the way, I just had to go there - because Vierzehnheiligen is well known (at least to us Franks), but I've never been there. 🙂 Seen something new again ✔ Great! 😁👍🏻

      Another tour that I've had on my to-do list for a long time 😍 ... and the first stage of the Main Cycle Path was wonderful! we are only "affected". The route led through charming, pretty Upper Franconia, always uphill / downhill (!), But not (!) Along the Main 😛 That doesn't matter 😁 because the route was great - it either ran on easily navigable forest and meadow paths or on Local connecting roads (with very little traffic) ... so everything was fine (and sometimes I am "a weng" critical of that 🙈). But: We were at the Rotmainquelle and the Mainz confluence 👍🏻😃 ... and tomorrow it goes on! I'm really looking forward to it 🙌🏻

      I run out of ideas if I want to ride my bike "quickly" and I don't have a lot of time wobei (whereby: the choice of routes would be greater if I were a "good Swabian housewife" willing to knowingly use my bike (and me too) to chase through the mud 🙈), but: the weather was SO inviting (surprise! 😮) and Dätzingen Castle 🏰 always works 👍🏻😃 It would be TOO nice if we could keep this weather for a while ... 🙏🏻

      A lap that is always nice to drive! 👍🏻 You might not believe that it 'actually' leads through the city of Stuttgart, with the many (unfortunately currently quite "juicy") forest trails over which this tour leads 😳 Stuttgart is really so much better than its reputation! 😜 Uuund: We discovered a new beer garden (totally by accident!), Up at the forest cemetery 🍻 How nice that EKS are now possible again! 🎉🙌🏻
      Unfortunately, the recording is not completely complete - not that komoot was to blame, but my cell phone. Apparently the sleepy Warmbronn (no! It's a nice (!) Place!) Is in a "GPS hole" ... the navigation system often refused to guide me because "no GPS available" 🤷🏻‍♀️

      If you want to counteract the bad weather blues with a short bike ride and you don't know where to go in a hurry: Solitude Castle 🏰, the Schillerhöhe and the Engelbergturm are always worthwhile destinations ☝🏻😃 And if then even bluer Heaven and sunshine kommen add to that (you just have to look in the right direction 😜), then everything is great! 😎 The best: I had just put the bike away when the 🌩🌧 started! Lucky! ✌🏻

      Today we went to the Alb 😊 I had heard of Lautertal several times ... and a tour awaited us that couldn't have been nicer! 😃 The route led us through the valley of the (great) Lauter, we continued along the Danube (although: the section around Ehingen is unfortunately "less beautiful" - I will try to avoid it next time!), From there back to the Schmiechtal and over the Schandental. A dream!! I am flashed to tal! 😃 The Lautertal in particular is a stunner! 👌🏻👍🏻 If you don't know it yet, you should do so soon. The Lautertal cycle path deserves five ⭐! Hammer! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I would like to thank the Haibike rider who inspired me to do this tour (I basically followed his lap on April 26th). 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

      I had already ridden this tour in the spring 👍🏻👌🏻 at that time, however, with an organic bike and on some single trails - which we avoided this time, because even the "normal" forest paths were rather soft due to the heavy rain in the last few days. 😬 Our destination was the Seehaus beer garden near Pforzheim 🥨🍺 a wonderful destination to which really great forest and meadow paths lead (suitable for e-bikes!) 😋 Also the way back from there, past the Liebeneck castle ruins and the Öchsle pavilion on the Würmhaldeweg and further over the Berzenbuckel and the Heimsheimer Reis is a recommendation 👍🏻 It was a successful tour - and the best thing: not only did we stay dry (there were showers all around us 🌧☔) but I can also go again credit a few KM gut to my city cycling account ✌🏻😋 Perfect! 👌🏻
