Nearby, a stately lime tree avenue leads to the hill above the Hummelwiese, the Kreienbarg. Behind the trees lies the former “Felsenhalle” inn, built in 1846, when the area was still rural and far from the city. From 1876 onwards, the Kiel Actien brewery took over the brewery site, and the “Felsenhalle” was converted into a home for the directors. In 1917 the brewing operation was stopped.
