Augustusburg Cable Railway

Great fun for young and old. It takes about ten minutes to take the train from the Erdmannsdorf car park to Augustusburg. A one-way trip currently costs just 4 euros per adult.

The Augustusburg cable car is a funicular and has been connecting the Erdmannsdorf district and the Erdmannsdorf-Augustusburg train station with the city of Augustusburg and Augustusburg Castle for over 100 years.

The ride on the cable car is a special experience. In an eight-minute ride, you go uphill and downhill at the same time, pulled on a rope.

The Augustusburg cable car was opened on June 24, 1911.
