Built around 1578 by the castle owner at the time, Reichhard Streun. At that time the castle was also redesigned into a Renaissance building. The chapel originally belonged to a Meierhof that managed the agriculture of Schloss Schwarzenau. The important Renaissance castle stands around 300 meters south of the chapel. The Meierhof was destroyed shortly before the end of the Second World War. Soldiers from the French Wars are said to have been buried near the chapel.
