    A very beautiful building!

The historic building originated around 1520 and served as a dumping pit, storage facility for the salt office and probably also once as a Lutheran church. After the devastating city fire of 1873, like many other buildings, it had to be completely restored and the last renovation took place in 2003.

The historic town hall with its stepped gable and turrets in the late Renaissance style is now the seat of the administration and one of the city's landmarks.
In 1992 the carillon chimes were installed, which can be heard daily at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
