Weilburg was an important center of iron ore mining. The museum has existed since 1911, so machines, original equipment and pictures are documented.

The "deep tunnel" shows a mine with operational machines over a length of approx. 200 meters as a lifelike replica of the mine, conveyor systems, shaft and roadway expansion.

City Museum - From the first mention in 906 to the present day, the history of Weilburg spans a chronological tour with exhibits, pictures and explanatory texts.
