The Royal Museum for Central Africa - or simply Africa Museum - presents exhibitions on cultural heritage, colonial history and biodiversity. On more than 4,500 square meters, spread over 24 halls and passage rooms, you can go on an exciting journey of discovery and get to know the most important epochs of Central Africa's history: from the old kingdoms and empires to the emergence of the now sovereign states of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Burundi.
The actual museum building is a copy of the Parisian Petit Palais and was recently completely restored according to the original plans of its architect - including a reconstruction of long-lost stencil paintings.
Even if you don't feel like going to exhibitions - the museum is always a great setting for a picnic.
