The moatThe Mulden Graben, called "Landgraben", has remarkable dimensions. It is not about an abandoned quarry or a pit from which earth was extracted, but rather the now somewhat shrunken crown of a wall, which, with the ditch behind it, belonged to a fortification from pre-Christian times. Three such ramparts are documented on the heights of the Limberg. This Limberg juts out like a spur from the Gauplateau and falls in steep slopes to the Saar valley on the one hand and to the extended Nied-Itzbach valley on the other. An ideal location from a defense point of view for former prehistoric, i.e. probably Celtic, settlements in this area. Source: Text information board
