Located between the municipalities of Berceto (Parma) and Pontremoli (Massa-Carrara), Mount Orsaro owes its name to the presence of bears since the mid-17th century. Local chronicles say that the last bear was captured and killed at the end of the 17th century. Today it is possible to reach the 1,831 meters of Mount Orsaro on foot, coming from the two asphalted passes of Cisa and Cirone. Furthermore, on the Orsaro peaks there is a bronze statue depicting the Madonna, placed there in 1987 and sculpted by the artist Luciano Preti.
