This first pavilion was in the form of a miniature Greek temple perched on an artificial hill. The current octagonal brick and limestone resting place replaced the original pavilion in 1854, reusing some of its architectural elements.

The restoration, completed in 2002, included coating the interior walls with a whitewash of egg yolk, appreciated in the nineteenth century.
