A castle stood here in the Middle Ages, which was the seat of the chief Edo Boings in the 14th century. After an alleged construction activity around 1514 to 1517, today's north wing was probably built at the end of the 16th century. A gate to the castle park was added to the complex in 1653. It shows the coat of arms of the Lords of Frydag, who were elevated to the hereditary imperial baron in 1646.
