The Brechtse Heide is a vast landscape that is mainly characterized by an alternation of meadows, forests and arable farming. You will also find fens and pieces of heathland. In this area lies the watershed line that forms the border between the Meuse and Scheldt basins. This protected landscape covers 1,726 hectares and extends over four municipalities: Brecht, Malle, Schilde and Zoersel. Several cycling and hiking trails introduce you to the beautiful fauna and flora in this area.
