The Chapel of St. Bernard was founded in 1947 by the friars of the abbey of Westmalle as a thank you for having been spared the two plane crashes in the immediate vicinity of the abbey during the Second World War. Inside the chapel is a memorial plaque to the crews as well as a beautiful RAF stained glass window.
