Cinquantenaire Arch

The most striking structure in the park is the Triumphal Arch (French: Arcades du Cinquantenaire), which was completed in 1905. The arch is a monument to Belgian independence and consists of three equal arches with a bronze statue above the central arch representing Brabant on a chariot.

It is east of the Cinquantenaire Park, the most emblematic part of which is the Triumphal Arch, topped by a bronze quadriga reminiscent of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.This palace was built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the birth of Belgium as an independent nation.
