After the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig in October 1813, the victorious powers Prussia, Russia and Austria also discussed the further fate of Saxony, which had fought on the side of France. The negotiated contract was signed by the King of Saxony on May 18, 1815 in Vienna (Vienna Treaty). According to this, about 60% of Saxony, all of Lower Lusatia and eastern Upper Lusatia, were "ceded" to the Kingdom of Prussia.The new border lines between Prussia and Saxony were marked by marker stones, pilars.
