Erected in 8 B.C. As evidenced by the inscriptions found in its galleries, the Amphitheater served as a stage for very popular shows: gladiatorial games, wild beast hunts and the fight between wild animals on artificial stages that recreated forests, jungles with lagoons or deserts, all on the large wooden platforms that made up the arena.
