Before any squirrel throws hazelnuts at me because it knows from its Komoot subscription that I drive past Karlstern every other day, today, for a change, I just did a short after-work lap.
Only before and without having been working.
It was enough too...

You might think I'm crazy, why the (almost) same route again, but the nearest noteworthy shady tree clusters are just uphill from Sandhofen.
(Recently tidied up the garage.
I think my bikes secretly order tires.
I'm sure maybe once - AT MOST twice - I've worn down a tire earlier to try something out and

Desire to
-ride was there.
-plan not.
-evaporate in the sun also not.
So not to Lorsch again, just differently.
On the way not there, covered with trees and also otherwise used every possible shade.
Then the temperatures were bearable.
Quitting time.

Out again after 2 days in the cellar.
Briefly disappointed by Lorsch and turned back before the sun noticed.
It used to be fun when you practically burned your butt on the saddle, but nowadays I can't cope with the heat anymore.
Probably due to the ozone, which was invented a few years ago.
Anyway, feet up, end of the workday. 😊

It's quite annoying when the only available underpass at the furthest point is closed due to construction work, and you feel like you're faffing around for half an hour to get back on track.
But otherwise, it was a fun outing.
End of work 😊

Summary:
Since I mostly leave FT in only two directions, the Wahoo only gets attention when it becomes relevant or too late.
So we had already trudged up the Theodor-Heuss stairs until we realized that today we were only going across the Rhine in WO... Hrmpf, so back down again.
In Einhausen there is a

I tried out this new mountain collection feature.
Not even 250 meters of elevation gain, but I rode 12 summits, someone has to beat that... 😁
Last Wednesday, due to a mudguard defect, I took a cable tie with me just in case.
And when did I need it?
Right, today, in the middle of Mannheim on the bike path

Had I known that the third Wednesday is so often, I would have chosen another day of the week or better yet, left this new senior leisure time completely.
I don't even know where I'm supposed to go all the time anymore.
So first to the basement, turn on the computer, watch videos.
After 3 minutes of Unbound200

Day of nice encounters:
- Out of Leimen, up the hump overtaken by an e-biker who immediately apologizes for needing a motor and battery for it. Funny.
- At the Königstuhl, I first thought a jogger would complain because I was riding on the path. But he was actually just happy that I was out early too

Komoot has probably adjusted the parameters for gravel riding,
so I was guided to Bismarck and from there to WO.
Felt like a third of the route I've never seen before.
Funny.
Since the weather forecast is currently(?) changing faster than my monitor's refresh rate, the holiday mudguards will just stay on

Where it was today was not important,
only when.
I finally wanted to ride in my own headlight again.
MA full, there were surprisingly many people out.
Visually, however, few of them were "resting" like me, but rather all "continuing"...
Anyway, it was nice.
Quitting time 😊

First notable ride over 40 since the end of vacation.
After I almost crashed face-first on Monday. But it's also surprising how wobbly a bike feels when you ride unloaded again after 10 days with luggage😮
I think it's slowly getting back to normal now 😄
End of work 😊

Day 10
So, that was it again,
today it was just to the train station (from Düsseldorf).
The way there became a crash course in getting used to German traffic management again.
Cycle path sometimes on the right, suddenly then on the left or completely gone. Strange traffic lights, I would have preferred

When you can't sleep anyway, it doesn't really matter where you're awake.
I'm unsure when the designation changes from very late to very early riding? Does it refer to the time of day, or whether one has already been to bed/gotten up, or both at the same time? And what about those I meet on the way, they
