This mill has a long history. Originally the mill Adam was a watermill and had a "wife" named Eva. Both were in Bedum. After they became superfluous there, the windmill Adam was built at the current location in Delfzijl. Unfortunately, Eva burnt down at her new location in Usquert. Meanwhile, Adam is retired as a flour mill and houses an art museum since 1959.
