A hiking trail that often does not allow any distant views and only a sparse view of the valley in leafy months. The path leads to Eltz Castle and is therefore frequented by tourists.

You would choose this route if you stopped by car in parking lot 1 for the purpose of viewing or if you took the bus, e.g. from Hatzenport station to this parking lot. Arriving by train and bus with a day ticket can be recommended with a clear conscience. It is a good idea to continue hiking after the visit, for example to one of the Moselle towns with a train connection.

Very nice path if you love a lot of panorama. Except for a small piece through the forest, you only go over spring. The castle is super beautiful, but there is an entrance fee and the inner area can only be viewed with a guided tour. Unfortunately, you don't get to see very much, as the castle is also inhabited by the lord of the castle. You are not allowed to take pictures of the inside of the castle, except for the treasury.
