It was in 1580 that the Jesuit college was built by Henri de Lorraine, Duke of Guise, known as Balafré, married to Catherine de Clèves, 26th Countess of Eu. 33 years later, Catherine of Cleves had the College Chapel built, in memory of her late husband, murdered in Blois in 1588. Construction lasted 11 years, from 1613 to 1624.
The building is characteristic of Jesuit architecture, a mixture of Renaissance and Louis XIII styles. The chapel consists of a nave of four bays with aisles, a transept, a choir on the sides of which the aisles extend to end in a polygonal apse.
The chapel contains the mausoleums of Henri de Guise and Catherine de Cleves, both represented at rest.
