It's a visible sign that spring is coming: the maypole. In Ruhpolding, its erection by the boys of the traditional costume club "D'Miesenbacher" is a tradition. The current tree, a nearly 100-year-old, 25-meter-tall larch from the Neustadl mountain forest, is quite unusual: It has two decorated tops. These are called "Zwiesel" (canopies).
