Barntrup Castle has been owned by the evangelical line "derer von Kerßenbrock" since the 16th century. Unfortunately, the "Kerßenbrock Castle" - Barntrup's sight № 1- is not open to the public. Isi von Kerßenbrock-Krosigk is the mistress of the castle. But the view of the "chocolate side", the south and entrance side of the castle makes an impression. The special features of the Weser Renaissance, such as the "slanted" built-in windows in the corner towers, are not to be overlooked.
