The cycle paths in this moorland area are simply great. It is something special that concrete slabs can be laid and maintained so seamlessly. We Germans can learn a lot from the Dutch.

The Bargerveen are a beautiful nature reserve.
A former peat region, but now nature can recover.
Many different species of birds and snakes (e.g. adders) can be observed there.
And there are wonderfully developed hiking/cycling trails through the heath/peat landscape.
