Buhlitz extends on the eastern shore of the small Jasmunder Bodden. In the past, the landscape could not be entered as a restricted military area. Rocket positions and combat exercises shaped everyday life. Today, nature has recaptured the terrain. Old deciduous forests have survived the times. Numerous rare animals and plants found here an untouched habitat. The open spaces of the peninsula were created by the former military use and are today overgrown with heather, broom and grass. In autumn you will find many wild fruit varieties here.
