The pier Binz
Binz today has Sellin on the second longest pier on the island of Rügen. The building can look back on an eventful history: first built in 1902 with a stately length of 560 meters, it was destroyed a few years later by a storm surge. After the reconstruction followed in 1942 the renewed destruction by persistent weathering, waves and wind.
The current Binz pier was built in 1994 with a length of approximately 370 meters and has since become one of the landmarks of the seaside resort. It serves as a destination, boulevard and also as a pier for excursion boats, which lay in the direction of chalk cliffs or the neighboring seaside resorts.
