The Christuskirche is a Protestant church built in the style of neo-gothic according to the plans of the architects August Hartel (1844-1890) and Skjøld Neckelmann (1854-1903) of the diocese master builder Heinrich Wiethase (1833-1893) in the Belgian Quarter in Cologne's Neustadt. In February 2014, the nave was demolished by order of the Evangelical Church of Cologne, then to build on the site a smaller nave and a residential and commercial property. The church was re-opened in 2016.

The Christmas market in the city garden is worth a visit. It is not so crowded and there are nice little booths. No crowds of tourists, it looks as if the Cologne people are among themselves.
