Following the example of the Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, celebrities will be honored there with one star, who have made outstanding achievements in German-speaking countries in film and television. The foundation stone was laid on 5 February 2010 as part of the Berlinale 2010. On February 12, the first star was presented in honor of Marlene Dietrich. With the awarding of 39 other stars, the boulevard was officially opened on September 10, 2010.
