Wayside shrine - monasteries, VogelsangwegThe three-part wayside shrine made of light sandstone is characterized by a high figure niche. Its shape is based on a Gothic church window. It looks elegant and slim. The niche adapts to the top of the wayside shrine that ends in a gable roof. The crowning glory of this presumably neo-Gothic building is an attached sandstone cross. The sandstone painting is said to go back to the Baroness von Twickel, who had it created in the 1880s.There used to be a figure of Mary in the niche, in 1997 the wayside shrine was redesigned by Haus Vogelsang GmbH. Today there is a Barbara figure in the niche, donated by ?.
