On this route, there are many beautiful curvy Singeltrails.Manchmal are still interrupted by fallen trees from the January storm 2018. By and large, but hardly occurs. Shortly before the Rennberg but you should stay right on the main path because otherwise you nowhere lands! See picture, where my mountain bike between tall ferns stands. At some point you can see the fire tower from Rennberg right. Then it goes through high thick thicket. Not recommended! So stay on the main road before!

Such gnarled beeches are often leftovers from land forces. (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landwehr) Originally, hornbeams were in hedges, which, like today's hedges, were always cut. That stopped at some point and the plants continued to grow unchecked. The thorn bushes that stood in between were no longer lighted by the thick foliage of the beeches and have passed. What remains are gnarled beeches and, as you can see in the photos, at least one wall (often there were two or more). Here it is quite flattened, but still easy to see. So this is a very old border fortification.
