As early as 1591, a Heiligensee residential smithy was mentioned in documents, later it became a running smithy, the master smith worked in Heiligensee and on the other side of the Havel. The village smithy consists of a residential building from 1891, a smithy from 1878 and an attached shed for shoeing horses' hooves from 1885.
