At the beginning of the 13th century Königsfeld was owned by the Dukes of Andechs-Merania at the end of the 13th century. it came into the possession of the Counts of Aufseß. During the Thirty Years' War the place was burned down by the Swedes. The Swedes murdered the then pastor Funk in 1632 at the Aufseß spring. The old wayside shrine at the Aufseßquelle reminds of the terrible events (»marauding warbands«). The almost completely destroyed Königsfeld was subsequently rebuilt.
