The old Jewish cemetery was probably laid out in the 18th century. The last burial took place in 1877. After that, further burials took place in the new Jewish cemetery in Kelberger Strasse.
The old cemetery is relatively hidden behind an allotment garden in the forest. There are fourteen recognizable grave sites on the relatively steep slope, including the grave of a Levite. A quiet and lonely place. A cemetery wall can still be seen in rudimentary form.
The best way to get to the cemetery is from the path that leads to the Three Crosses and the chapel. About 20 meters behind the last allotment garden on the right-hand side, a meadow path leads steeply up to the edge of the forest. The path then turns right. You follow this further and you are now above the last allotment garden that you passed on the lower path. After about 30 meters the cemetery is on the left on the slope (behind an embankment). You have to walk up the slope a bit. Scattered on the slope you can see the individual gravestones.

Fits thematically very well to the current anniversary year "1700 years of Jewish life in Germany", which refers to the document of the year 321, with which the permission was given in the then Roman Empire that Jewish citizens may also be elected to the (Cologne) city council .
