Tips

The highest peak in the Harz Mountains above the tree line. Certainly not the most exciting ascent with the MTB, but a must, simply because it is there. ;-)

If you visit the Harz, you should not miss it, the Brocken

Summit stone instead of summit cross.

The stone shows the highest point of the chunk. At 1,142 meters above sea level. he is the greatest in the Harz Mountains.

An unmistakable and beautiful photo opportunity when you have hiked or cycled the Brocken.

If the weather is right, you have a view in all directions.

The ride up is demanding (no e-support), the prospect up for the troubles! The descent to the north on the concrete slabs is crass and requires drivers and equipment.

Belong to it when you're in the Harz. The last section before the summit is rather boring but you just want to get up.

Brocken Allwetter - The Brocken is beautiful in any weather. Although the view in Kaiserwetter to Braunschweig is unique, even in dark fog or in the dark, the Brocken gives a magical effect.

Alone the feeling of being on top with the bike (without e-support ;-)) is the summit!

Of course worth a visit! The hospitality leaves nothing to be desired. Of course, there is a lot going on at the weekend ...

O.K., you have to have been up there, but for mountain bikers rather a unatraktive summit (purely from driving!). But the view is definitely worth it!

Even if the climb of the Brocken is obligatory with a mountain bike on a Harz visit, the trail-addicted biker does not come here at his expense. Despite monopoly position, the gastronomy high up on the mountain still acceptable prices.

Very busy in the peak time. Best early in the morning or later in the evening high on the chunks. The Brockenbahn is historically but expensive and often overcrowded. a matter of taste

At 1,141 m, the Brocken is the highest mountain in the north. For everyone who is not that good on foot, but still doesn't want to miss the summit, there is the Brockenbahn. There are many paths leading from the most varied of starting points to the summit. So it never gets boring. When the weather is nice, you have a magnificent view of the valley. (Most of the time it is cloudy around the Brocken.)There's a lot going on at the summit. Great photo opportunities, a hotel, a museum, the stamp box of the Harz hiking pin (9), souvenirs, food, ...Otherwise, the Brocken is extremely well attended. If you prefer the peace and quiet in nature, it is best to start very early in the morning. It's a bit difficult to enjoy the ride with the bike, especially during holiday periods and on weekends, as you mostly drive around hikers in slalom or sneak after them.

Brocken is always worth a tour. The weather up there, however, can change quickly, so change things, windbreaker or rainproof clothes take. Even if it took longer - definitely think of light. The departure is otherwise to the roulette game.
