In 1987, Anni and Wolfgang Hausmann acquired Burg Hohenscheid. From now on, life should come back to the house. Anni and Wolfgang had the vision to help people in need. To this end, they founded the club "Christian Life Center Burg Hohenscheid" and overruled the ownership of the club.

Hohenscheid Castle is a Christian center. The foundation walls of this castle have been around since the 13th century. Already during the Thirty Years War of 1618-1648 this castle was a place of refuge for persecuted Evangelical Christians. In 1629, when Protestant worship was banned in Solingen, Holy Communion was celebrated here according to the Protestant understanding.
The destroyed ruins were rebuilt in the 1980s. Today a Christian life center is housed here. People are accepted who need pastoral and practical help in life.
