At the beginning of the 15th century, the medieval estate near Magelund Castle (today the ramparts, approx. 1.5 km away) was relocated here to the lake. The oldest of the current buildings on Lykkesholm is the west wing with the protruding tower from the middle of the 17th century. Of the other buildings from this period, only the “Odense Gate” remains. There used to be two other gates, but the facility burned down in 1859. The castle is located on an almost square rampart, once surrounded by water on all sides. Lykkesholm has had numerous noble families as owners in the course of history, but later also bourgeois owners. In 1914 it was acquired by the Sehestedt Juul zu Ravnholt family and is still in their possession today. The entire castle can be rented for special celebrations and occasions. Lykkesholm Castle is not open to the public.
