The castle with the two stately yellow southern and northern gatehouses was designed by the Danish-Holstein architect Georg Dietrich Tschierske, from 1754 the complex was laid out under Colonel Niels Juel. The northern gatehouse "Nordre Porthus" is now equipped with a spacious holiday home for up to 16 people. The magnificent complex has been owned by the Juel family since 1678.
