The Niedwald lies between the Nidda in the north and Nied and Griesheim in the west and south. Coming from the Nidda, the forest opens up between the two arches formed by river straightening, Waldspitze and Grill'scher Altarm, through several forest trails. The Niddaweg for example leads from the green Niddasteg (150 meters west of the Sossenheim Weir) southwest towards Selzerbrunnen.
