Since 1166 Beeck belonged to the Lords of Randerath, from whom it came to the Dukes of Jülich in 1392. The Beeck house, at that time a water-protected, fortified structure, remained in the possession of a branch line from Randerath. In the second half of the 14th century Hermann von Randerath was master of the house. His son of the same name tried to defend himself against Jülich claims by giving his property to the Lords of Heinsberg as a fief in 1422.
