The Flinthörn in the southwest of Langeoog is a salt marsh and dune area that has been a nature reserve since 1963. Since 1986 it has also been part of the strictly protected quiet zone of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park. Its name is derived from the Low German terms Feuerstein (Flint) and Fluthaken (Hörn).
