    Road cycling

A beautiful but very tough climb! From Chur to Arosa, it's about 27km, almost entirely out of bounds. It's relatively steep, especially at the beginning (Chur to Castiel), then it levels off until the final climb to Arosa.

Caution: During rush hour (after work), there's quite a lot of traffic going up the mountain. The residents of the valley also ride quite aggressively, which is rather unpleasant for cyclists.

There are several long tunnels at the beginning of the climb with no overtaking options for cyclists. Be sure to bring a light so you can be seen in the tunnel.

There are said to be 360 curves on the 30-kilometer-long road. The drive from Chur to Arosa is an experience in itself, and the winding Schanfiggerstrasse is lined with idyllic mountain villages on both sides.
