Konrad Zuse is considered the inventor of the computer. He lived in Hünfeld for many years and is buried there in the new cemetery. Some of his inventions and works are on display in the Konrad Zuse Museum in Hünfeld.

In memory of Konrad Zuse, who died on 18.12.1995 in Hünfeld. Zuse built the first fully functional, fully automatic, programmable, and freely programmable calculator that works in binary floating-point calculation, making it the world's first working computer.
