The Petaling Street is part of Kuala Lumpurs Chinatown and always worth a visit. You will not find any glamour around here, but real bargains for a lot of stuff you definitely don't need. And be aware, that there is also a lot of fake stuff offered. At night, the lampoons are illuminated for the market after dark.

Chinatown developed when Chinese came to Malaysia to work at the tin mines back in the day. After the mines were flooded, a weathly Chinese opened a tapioca mill to make the mine workers stay. By the way: Petaling Street means Starch Factory Street ;)

Street Market for tourists. Lots of food, lots of trinkets, lots of action, many counterfeit products. But once you should have been there ...: O)

Traversing here is a must to eat something exotic or buy something cheap.
