The Kranika moorland between Lütjensee and Grönwohld offers a habitat for numerous animal and plant species that have adapted to the predominantly wet conditions there. Here, where peat was once mined, you can now find moor frogs, grass snakes and adders. If you listen carefully while walking on the hiking trails on the edge of the nature reserve, you can also hear the creaky calls of the corncrake.
