The castle with the park has existed since 1607. In 1898 the estate with park and castle was sold to the city of Berlin. The park has been open to the public since 1906. After the orangery was demolished in 1955, the palace was also blown up in 1964 for political reasons. Both buildings survived the Second World War unscathed. A rose plant was created in their place.
